The BMRC Short-Term Summer Fellowship Program is made possible by the generous support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. With the first phase of funding received in 2008, the Short-Term Fellowship Program supported doctoral candidates, post-doctoral scholars, and artists to research collections of BMRC member institution. The second phase of the Short-Term Fellowship program began in 2012, altogether supporting fellowship cohorts every year from 2009 to 2017.
Moving forward, the BMRC will introduce a new cohort model in which scholars, researchers, and artists will be selected based on their work in broad, yet defined, subject areas. This subject-area cohort model will enable BMRC staff and member institutions to concentrate their support efforts in focused subject areas. This also will enable Fellows to share and exchange ideas and facilitate collaboration with other cohort Fellows.
