Public Talk: Black Bookstores & Radical Print Culture in Chicago 8/20

The Black Metropolis Research Consortium invites you to join us on August 20th at 6PM at Build Coffee and Books (6100 S. Blackstone) for an engaging talk on the history of Black bookstores in twentieth century Chicago in this talk given by Sydney Smith, a doctoral student at Rutgers University.

Smith will discuss the how Black bookstores shaped the city's political, intellectual, and cultural landscape by fostering Pan-African consciousness and promoting literacy and education within Black communities.
