Scope and Content
Photocopies, photographs, newspaper clippings, sheet music, and other papers of William Henry Huff (1888-1963), a Chicago (Ill.) lawyer, pharmacist, and poet. Huff was a member of the Cook County Bar Association and was a strong and active advocate of civil rights. Also included are photocopies of Huff's poems and writings as well as two scrapbooks of newspaper clippings about Huff and topics of interest, particularly African American culture. Writings include Sowing and Reaping (1950), From Deep Within (1951), I'm Glad I'm Who I am (1960), and Low Ground of Sorrow (undated manuscript). In addition are the funeral registers of William Huff and his wife Lola M. Huff.
