Scope and Contents note

Correspondence, newsletters, reports, memos, and history of Seminarians Organized for Racial Justice (SORJ), a Chicago-area group organized in 1968 to eliminate racism, promote Catholic Church ties with affirmative action businesses, and construction of low-income housing for minorities in Arlington Heights. Most of the newsletters discuss "Project Equality," an attempt to raise awareness from within the dioceses on SORJ’s activities. Box 1 includes a container list.
