Biographical note

Carole Powell was the Treasurer of the Gerber/Hart Library from 1989-1991; served on the board of Directors of IMPACT, a Chicago based gay and lesbian political action committee; and was involved with the Illinois Gay and Lesbian Task Force. In 1989, she served as Assistant to the Director of Eugene Sawyer's campaign for Mayor of Chicago. She also worked on IMPACT founder Ron Sable's campaign for alderman.

Scope and Contents note

The collection consists of notes, meeting minutes, financial records, press releases, and other materials related to Carole Powell's involvement with a variety of Chicago political action committees and campaigns.
