Collection appears to be the office files of former Illinois Institute of Technology Librarian William H. Hyde, Jr. Materials consist primarily of printed matter: brochures, announcements, publications, etc. Also included are smaller amount of manuscript materials: memos, correspondence, notes, newsclippings, etc. Overall material documents activities at the Illinois Insitute of Technology. It includes information on new student orientation and student life; basic information on a few presidents and prominent faculty; library correspondence; and undergraduate admission statistical information. One folder contains information on the Ada S. McKinley Community House (date range 1919-1950). The material includes annual reports from the 1940s, brochures highlighting programs offered at the House, and correspondence between IIT and the Community House administrators regarding the donation of facilities.
