- On August 15, 1907, the Pride of the North Chapter No. 61, Order of the Eastern Star was granted its charter from the Eureka Grand Chapter of Illinois. The Order of the Eastern Star is the largest fraternal organization in the world with both male and female membership, with over 500,000 members. Formed in 1876, the Order of the Eastern Star is founded on biblical principles and morals and has four stated principles: Charitable, Educational, Fraternal, and Scientific. The collection consists of material dating from 1928 to 2005 and includes By-Laws, event invitations, Annual Coronation Tea booklets, newspaper clippings, photographs, and ephemera.

The Pride of the North Chapter No. 61, Order of the Eastern Star collection is organized into two series: “Chapter History” and “Artifacts.” It contains By-Laws, event invitations, Annual Coronation Tea booklets, newspaper clippings, photographs, and ephemera dating from 1928 through 2005.
