Biographical/Historical note

The Suburbanites Social and Civic Club was a non-profit African-American women’s club in Evanston, Illinois, comprised of twelve active members and one honorary member. Through a program of community service, fellowship, and financial contributions, the women in the club solidified an influential position in the community.
