Human Verification
Why am I seeing this challenge?
Recently the website has been subject to harvesting attacks by bots. These bots seek to collect data for the purpose of training AI large language models. The bots produce traffic at such a high volume that our websites can be rendered unusable to humans.

We have deployed a commercial application called Turnstile from Cloudflare to filter out traffic from bots. Sometimes, Turnstile may require you to click on a checkbox to verify that you are human. In many cases, it may be able to infer that you are human without such a challenge.
Are there any alternatives to this verification?
Currently, users accessing the Archival Collections will need to pass this challenge. Pages outside of this section of the website are not restricted.
What data does Cloudflare collect?
Please see https://www.cloudflare.com/application/privacypolicy/ for details on this. Information such as user IP address, device type, and session time is logged by Cloudflare. They may share this information with their service providers, though not for marketing purposes. They may also share this information as legally obligated by subpoena or other process.
The verification is interfering with my use of the website.
Rarely, some users may encounter an error message and be denied access to the site. If you see this, or have other issues, please let us know.
