BMRC Welcomes New Members
July 15, 2025

The Black Metropolis Research Consortium is proud to officially welcome two new members to the BMRC! The Haitian American Museum of Chicago and The Chicago Black Social Culture Map (CBSCM) at Honey Pot Performance both join us as associate members.
The Haitian American Museum of Chicago https://hamoc.org/: The Haitian American Museum of Chicago (HAMOC)’s mission is to promote and preserve Haitian art, culture, history and community in Chicago and beyond. It also aims to help change the negative perceptions and stereotypes of Haiti. To do this, HAMOC uplifts the vibrancy of Haiti while educating about its complex history.
The Chicago Black Social Culture Map (CBSCM), led by Honey Pot Performance (HPP) https://cbscmap.omeka.net/, is a public humanities platform and community archive for the preservation of Chicago’s Black social cultural lineage—past, present, and future.
We're excited to work with these incredible organizations and look forward to the impact we'll make together. Their addition to the consortium brings the number of current members to twenty-eight.
