Historical note
The mission of African American Family Services (AAFS) is to help the African American individual, family and community to reach a greater state of well being through the delivery of community-based, culturally-specific chemical health, mental health, and family preservation services.

The Afro-American Family and Community Services records include board of directors minutes, financial records, topical files, and client case files of the Afro-American Family and Community Services, an African American social welfare coordinating agency working in the areas of child welfare (adoption, foster care), family and individual counseling, and neighborhood organizations.
