Biographical/historical note

The Logan Square Neighborhood Association (LSNA), a nonprofit community organization, was founded in 1962 to serve the Logan Square neighborhood in Chicago (Ill.). Its office was located for some years at 2641 North Milwaukee Avenue. The organization has been composed of community members, including individuals, businesses, other neighborhood organizations, churches, and social service agencies. LSNA has dealt with a variety of community issues such as public libraries, school reform, local land use, health care, and neighborhood safety. Logan Square is one of Chicago's official community areas on which statistics have been gathered for many decades. However, the scope of LSNA's activities and membership was not limited to the boundaries of the official community area.
