Scope and Content

Reports, forms, and other office files from Chicago-area locals of the United Steelworkers of America, primarily from Local 65 at United States Steel's South Works in the South Chicago neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois, and from Local 1033 at the Republic Steel mill. Includes copies of "Local Issue Forms" from Local 65, detailing union requests for improvements/clarifications on working conditions, discipline issues, work schedules, vacation time, sick leave, overtime, etc., ca. 1972-1980; copies of arbitration decisions on employee grievance issues for Local 1033, 1956-1977; and a ledger for Local 65's Strike and Defense Fund, detailing disbursements for workers and other strike-related expenses, 1986-1987.
