Scope and Content
Miscellaneous correspondence, bulletins, pamphlets, clippings, annual reports, statistical data, etc. of the Visiting Nurse Association of Chicago. Correspondence is chiefly with donors (1903-1949, 1957), who included many socially prominent Chicagoans; plus case study data in Patient Service, Nursing Substation & Coordinated Home Care Program reports, 1962-1968. Also, many items on the Mayor's City-County Polio Planning Committee (1956); a VMA 75th anniversary scrapbook; and Society for Ethical Culture correspondence, 1883-1887.
Scope and Content
Also present is a paper on Lea Demarest Taylor, 1883-1968, and in box 16, folder 2, there is a Masters thesis on the "History of Public Health Nursing in Chicago, 1883-1920," by Helen Lyons (University of Chicago, 1947).
