Historical note
IMPACT was one of Chicago's earliest gay and lesbian political action committees. Formed in 1987, it charged itself with increasing politicians' responsiveness to the needs of Chicago's gay and lesbian community.
Scope and Contents note
The collection consists of correspondence, board meeting minutes, press releases, and questionnaires submitted by municipal, state, and federal politicians to help IMPACT endorse candidates.
