- Anna Belle Frazier (1918-2005) was an African-American social and civic leader in Evanston, Illinois during the second half of the 20th Century. She was an active member of various organizations such as the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ebenezer A.M.E Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Norshore 12, and Suburbanites. The bulk of the material comprising the Anna Belle Frazier collection concerns her involvement with Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Order of the Eastern Star, and her interest in the African-American experience in Evanston, Illinois.
Biographical Note
Anna Belle Frazier (1918-2005) was an African-American social and civic leader in Evanston, Illinois, active during the second half of the 20th Century. She was an active member of a number of clubs and organizations including the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ebenezer A.M.E Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Norshore 12, and Suburbanites. She was married to Walter Frazier and mother to Eleanor J. “Brownie” Frazier.

The Anna Belle Frazier collection is organized into four series: “Personal,” “Community Involvement,” “Research Files,” and “Artifacts.” The bulk of the material concerns her involvement with Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Order of the Eastern Star, and her interest in the African-American experience in Evanston, Illinois. The collection includes notebooks, meeting minutes, artifacts, audio tapes, photographs, and publications.
