The National Organization for Women (NOW) was founded in 1966 and the Chicago Chapter of NOW was organized two years later, in 1968. By working with business leaders, politicians, and social organizers, Chicago NOW focused on creating jobs, equal wages, and legislation for workplace safety for women and other marginalized groups.
