Scope and Content
Interviews with present and former officials and members of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters (BSCP) or of its International Ladies Auxiliary, conducted by Greg Leroy as the labor union came to a close (dissolved 1978). The BSCP had been the largest predominantly African American union in the United States. Most interviews took place in the Chicago area or aboard trains. Leroy, who worked for Amtrak for a time, also traveled to other cities for some interviews.
